AECOM and MDSX Selected as Lead Designers for Billion-Dollar Project
OCOEE, Florida (October 16, 2024) – Montierre Development, a pioneer in experiential youth sports destinations, has announced plans for “The Dynasty,” a 159-acre, year-round destination in Ocoee, Florida. The development will feature retail, dining, entertainment, and hotels, in addition to being a premier venue for youth and amateur travel sports. The multi-sport mixed-use complex is being created in response to the growing popularity of traveling youth sports leagues. The Dynasty | Ocoee will serve as a sports hub, hosting championship events and welcoming millions of athletes annually.
“Every industry experiences a revolutionary turning point that paves the way for a sustainable future. This is that moment for youth sports,” said Jaime Douglas, Founder and CEO of Montierre Development and The Dynasty. “The Dynasty experience will bring convenience, connection, and affordability to youth sporting events across the nation, addressing a critical need in the industry. As participation costs and time demands rise, families often face the dilemma of choosing between a family vacation or attending a large-scale sporting event for their child. The Dynasty | Ocoee eliminates this choice by providing an all-in-one experience for the entire family.”
Project Summary:
The Dynasty | Ocoee will consist of up to 17 convertible, multi-purpose sports fields equipped with world-class amenities, alongside a 150,000-square-foot state-of-the-art indoor sports facility. The development will also include space dedicated to the Miracle League program. Additional features will include 1,100 on-site hotel rooms, 350,000 square feet of retail, dining, and entertainment venues, a riverwalk, and multiple parking garages.
The venue aims to revolutionize the participant experience by creating an ecosystem of cutting-edge technology, sports science, and immersive simulation. Smart training equipment and data-tracking capabilities will provide constant feedback, helping players reach their maximum potential.
As part of its commitment to the community, Montierre Development will dedicate an inclusive playground and dedicate the extension of 17th Avenue back to the City of Ocoee for public use.
“The vision for The Dynasty | Ocoee is to create a haven where every guest is engaged and embraced in an environment that fosters an appreciation for family, sports, science, and fun,” said Craig Shadrix, City Manager of Ocoee. “Not only will this project create meaningful economic impact for Ocoee and the surrounding areas, but it will also offer health, wellness, and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors of Central Florida.”
AECOM and MDSX have been selected as the lead designers for the project. AECOM will oversee master planning, programming, and architectural design, while MDSX will manage the narrative and experiential elements of the complex.
“This is exactly the type of revolutionary development the City of Ocoee needs,” said Zak Nawrocki, Managing Principal at AECOM. “It will not only serve as a much-needed amenity for local athletes, children, and families, but is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the area. We are excited to partner with Montierre Development on this legacy project, which will transform how residents live, work, and play for years to come.”
The Dynasty | Ocoee is slated to break ground in 2025 and is expected to be completed by 2027. For additional information on the project, please visit: www.montierredevelopment.com and www.thedynastyexperience.com.
